S. Christer Gartner, D.D.S.

Dr. Sven Christer (Chris) Gartner, a native of Sweden, graduated from Princeton High School in New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Art degree in 1974 from Indiana University, where he distinguished himself as an All-American placekicker for the Hoosiers. After playing football in the NFL, Dr. Gartner earned his D.D.S. from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1981, and was elected into the OKU honorary dental society. Selected as the single Mayo Clinic orthodontic resident in 1981, Dr. Gartner completed a comprehensive three-year residency in the specialty of orthodontics at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Gartner has been active in many professional organizations from the local level to the international level of the orthodontic profession.  Dr. Gartner has given presentations in the United States and Japan and is a former Associate Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at Northwestern Dental School.

Dr. Gartner and his wife, Barbara, have resided in Park Ridge for nearly thirty years and are the proud parents of three terrific young adults and two sons-in-law. Dr. G has been a Rotarian, a volunteer with his church, and has enjoyed supporting the athletic and musical endeavors of his children. As always, Dr. G enjoys all competitive sports but especially cycling, sailing and planning a Great Loop adventure aboard a 40 ft. trawler.
